Gardens and Grounds of Cairnie Cottage

House and Grounds

Extending to about 3 acres in total, the grounds of the house are entirely private. Like the accommodation at Cairnie Cottage the gardens have been totally revamped and landscaped.

The work has resulted in most attractive separately defined areas of lawn, orchard, vegetable garden and flower beds.

Hall and Stairs at Cairnie Cottage

The entire property nestles below a south facing bank of trees which provide the protection from northerly winds, and the Kilconquhar Burn runs along the southern boundary. The MacDowels are no strangers to sharing their home with B&B guests: skills were perfected over a 10 year stretch at their magnificent home in Murrayfield Gardens, Edinburgh during the 1990s.

Tim and Christine have considerable knowledge of local golf, tourist attractions, coastal paths, gardens open to the public and much more - they look forward to assisting with programmes and bookings as required.

Guests should not be surprised to receive a very warm welcome also from Mulligan and Jock, a lurcher and a terrier: also residents at Cairnie Cottage!
